新年

The word: ‘新年’ means New Year and today is the First Day of New Year! :)

Currently in Changlun, Kedah. It's my Father's hometown and we spend Chinese New Year there always. I'll constantly update this post so better check this often!

We ate a lot of food last night. A lot. I don't know where the photos are. But I'll post it here when I find it, I swear.

Update: I found the photos!
 Hakka Yong Tau Fu!
Chicken! We have it every year :)

So instead, here are some photos I took last night and today! I was only fooling around with my cousin's Canon EOS 600D. Heheh. Let me show off a little bit, can?
The kid's table :D
The swing is our lifeline. We've been playing on it since we were tiny tots. Now, we've reached a time where we can no longer fit all together at once. I love this :)
What's CNY without gambling? ;)

First day of Chinese New Year! 年初一!

We spent it serving guests visiting my grandfather's house.
Grandfather's homegrown rambutan! This is my cousin Luke :)
Chubby Rambutan! :D
Olivia! :D
Handsome lehh? Handsome lehh?? ;) 回眸一笑
Hi! :D *cute face* xD
Look at his face! I don't know why I like this.
I don't even know their names but they look so festive! Their my distant cousins :D
It's honestly a bit too bright, but I don't have photoshop. Anyway, she's so pretty! She's Naomi, a Portuguese Chinese :) My father's cousin's daughter. It's complicated.

Then I got bored. And I kidnapped my cousin's camera and went and took photos. Lots and lots of it. I apologize if I insult the term 'photography', but I'm still learning!
This is the roof of the house behind my Grandfather's house. When the wind blows, the corner of the roof will lift up and down and create the noisiest sound ever.
 My Grandfather loves gardening :)

My Mother's Asam Laksa!  It's the best.
Then I attempted to photograph the sunset. Yes, I was bored. I don't think I did a very good job though. I googled how to photograph a sunset afterwards. Hahah. Silly me :P I might attempt it later.

 I then stalked this cat.
Grandfather's winter melon! I love his winter melon. It's absolutely organic and is awesome.

Then I stalked my Grandmother's chickens. I... Heheheh. We're about to eat it next Christmas x)

Now for 初一's dinner!
Oh my shiny pretty pig. So shiny.
 Fish. Steamed just right.
 Grandmother's Chicken #2
 Fried pumpkin with salty egg.
Fried mushroom with oatmeal. *Crunch*

FYI, my Mum cooked all of the food above. She's awesome.

After dinner, we flew some lanterns. In Chinese, it's called 许愿灯 or 孔明灯. It has strangely became an Ng family tradition to fly these every Chinese New Year since 2010.
 Writing wishes!

 Mine! :P

Kay, now this is hilarious. My mother asked my cousin, Aron, to draw a princess for my younger cousin sister. Aron is a really really good artist. But unfortunately, he is also a jerk. A funny one. So look what he drew.

Mum explaining: 'Draw the princess digging her nose!'

End product. This is fudging terrifying, I tell you.
I don't have anything to say.

We then flew the lanterns! It was very hard, seeing as the weather was super windy. You can't fly something that's powered by hot air when it's windy. No no.

We went though a lot to make those lanterns fly up into the air. And we almost burnt my uncle's car, the neighbor's house, the shop opposite. But that just shows to make our dreams come true, we have to go through some hardships, eh?

Now, for some Mat Rempit photos. Or more accurately, Mak Cik Rempit. My mother is such a rebel. She said she hasn't gone one a motorcycle for more than 10 years. Yeah.

Feel the wind.

2nd Day of Chinese New Year! 年初二!

We woke up late. And we had nothing to do. So I went and took photos of people. Yeah.

I have no idea what she was doing. Seriously. But she looks cute lah.
Current favourite picture of my Grandfather :)

3rd Day of Chinese New Year 初四!

As usual on the 3rd Day, we went to my Mum's uncle's house. It's basically my granduncle and I call him my"伯公". It's surrounded by paddy fields but now the paddy has died out. :(

Photos coming sooooooooon! :)

Keep reading this post for more updates! I'll tweet about it! ;)
