So yes, I'm in Malam Bakat again. Some of you may be clueless on what I'm talking about. Well, this Malam Bakat event means Talent Night in English. Basically, students go and compete and show their talent up on stage. How could I miss out on that?? This event started last year and my band, The Black Roses took part in it. We were horrid. Honestly. The sound system crashed our performance. But, it was really fun.

It was considerably okay. Nah, just kidding. It sucked like hell. My mike didn't work. :[ *sigh* Its okay. Its past already.

After the performance, we didn't win. :P But, ah well.

Of course, we took crazy pictures too. But beware, my make-up is horrendous. I look like an evil witch. Seriously. I prefer the one I originally have, which my mum did on me but I still like myself makeupless.
Err, yeah. That was 2011's Malam Bakat. It was pretty awesome. We had fun!
So, about this year's auditions...
I couldn't believe Joyanne was late during the auditions! Grrr. The whole world was waiting for her RM7000 keyboard! And I was waiting for her. But she turned up, in the end. Said she was too sleepy.
Anyways, on the day, we were nervous and excited. Joyanne was nervous. I was more to excited. I'm always like that before I perform. Us being Prefects, we got to sneak and watch other people's performances.
The Auditions were split into two days. The first one for Musical stuff and other stuff, whereas the second day is for dancing groups and crews. Too many people dance.
There was one band, V7, which was AWESOME. Most of the band members were in another band, called Freedom last year. They were good. But this year, they were better. I'm so jealous. Cause I know how hard it is to make a band, practice a song, make it flawless and etc. They performed some Chinese Song. They sound good (probably because they got mentored by Nickson, Joyanne's ex-piano teacher). They have an awesome singer (Champion of the Chinese Singing Competition last year), and the electric guitarist has PEDALS. I hate you, Nicholas!
There was another band (I forgot the name), they were... Not so good. They were messy and disorganized. It made me wince to see their performance. They performed Pumped Up Kicks- Foster The People. I won't say they killed the song, but it was close. But, they had a violin! That was cool. Yeah.
Umm... Lots of people sang, but they were okay. None of them really really stood out, so yeah.
After watching V7's audition, they were really bummed because Nicholas couldn't perform his solo, which was situated at the end of the song. We instantly decided we should change up our audition song, Price Tag- Jessie J feat. B.o.B. (but we didn't rap). We hyped up my strumming, and we cut the song. One full verse, pre-chorus and chorus. We did that cause we wanted to perform a full song and not get stopped like V7 did.
And guess what?
We did not get stopped at all!
Oh my goodness. As we were singing, I think the look on teacher's faces meant: enjoyment? I don't know. But I felt adrenaline after the performance. Which was awesome. :]
Only flaw in our performance was, Joyanne was too soft. That idiot mike guy put hers too high. So she either chose to sing, or to play. So she sang. But she simply played the keyboards. I heard, but the show must go on right? :D
We were satisfied.
Well, its like Friday now, you must be wondering if we have gotten through or not. You might not be wondering. Cause you may think I'm showing off. Okay lah. I am. A little bit. But hey. Its my blog.

I'm really psyched! :D I can already imagine what our performance would be like. Of course, we have to practice.
I'm still wondering what we could do with a guitar and a keyboard... My Humans got any ideas? I want our performance to be young, fun, energetic, loud and sound nice!
We're considering options here. I won't tell you what it is... Keeping the element of surprise! :D
Umm... And we have to think of what to wear. Hmm... Hippy? Rocker? I don't know.
I'm so excited now I'm jumping all around my room. #LikeALunatic
Well, all I'm asking for you guys here, is to wish me Super Good Luck! Nah, just hope my beret doesn't fall off. And I hope we don't do anything stupid. Or get kicked off the competition entirely. Maybe even win the RM400? LOL. Not happening. Music will never win.
Ah well. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, right?
