Noel's Lyric Interpretation:
This is a pretty simple song telling you how simple love is. We didn't really change much of the song except for the guitar solo. You can say it's a little more chill than the original but meanwhile it's not as chill as the dougie version.

Hello hello hello hello hello. I'm not exactly back. Joyanne demanded me post this to my blog so here you have it.

I should probably introduce my bandmates cos they're all really talented people. From the left, 勳承, Xun Cheng aka Cockroachman (I actually christianed him Vincent but he doesn't seem to buy into that name), he's really good on guitar and his voice is deep and husky (he's annoying tho). Next on, 巧思, Sarah Pan, she's SUCH A CUTIEPIE, like legit the sweetest person ever, even her voice feels like it's candy-coated. And on my left,  奕融, Allan, he's really sweet and nice too and his voice is somewhere between husky and phlegmy (???) but his harmonization is usually on point. They're all really good people and I'm so happy to be able to be in a band together with them.

I don't really think I should apologize for being MIA because I honestly have been busy just living. If you truly want to know about my daily shenanigans, you should follow me on instagram (@noelhasfeathers) which update when something interesting happens.

I really really really really want to tell you all about NCKU's guitar club and the exclusive group I auditioned for (minyaotuan) but I REALLY DON'T HAVE TIME. My studies and my social life are dangling on a line here.

However, I will try to post as many of my performances here because well, I don't really have any other place to show them off.

So bye for now.

Fuel

I have this very bad habit where I find videos on the internet and I watch them non-stop. Usually this happens in the middle of the night. And tonight is no different.

I have been watching interviews of Neil Gaiman and it has provided me what I think is fuel. I say this because words are flowing from my mind, to the screen - well, not literally  because if I did that literally I don't have to move ever again- which has long since been overdue.

I'm pretty sure it's the British accent that gets to me because everytime I think in a British accent I have to sit upright and my thoughts become clearer and also I tend to use posher words with elongated syllables somehow.

Charming. That's what I would use to describe Neil Gaiman's person. And probably 'weird' for his mind. Maybe throw in a little stardust too (I accidentally on purpose made a Gaiman pun and I'm feeling extremely pleased with myself).

When I listen to a really good writer talk about his/her really good writing the way I talk about the weather, it triggers something in me. I suppose that's why I'm subscribed to Tahereh Mafi and John Green on Youtube. I like watching them speak. It makes them realer to me because I have found that people can be witty over text but unable to speak at all in person. If they can do both then it really makes me happy because I want to be like that. Also, usually these authors are really big dorks. And I am a really big dork. See? I'm halfway there already.

Of course, I know there are millions of people out there, writing their arses off while I'm here day-dreaming about writing but not actually producing anything and that this dream is still far, far away from reach.

But when I watch these videos of great people speaking, I just get this itch. An itch in my back. No I'm serious my back was really itchy just now. And I start to question things. I start to wonder. I start to imagine. I start to ponder. I start plotting. I start booting up my laptop. I start opening a file. I start drafting. I start typing.

And it makes me so excited to know that I took one tiny step closer to my shiny writer dream.

Good night.

Going Through Old Notebooks #1

I have so many notebooks. I tell myself I like to collect them but everytime I get my hands on one, I never seem to be able to commit myself to the cause of filling up the notebook. I suppose this is why I never finish my homework. It honestly is quite sad to flip through quarter-filled notebooks, but while going through them, I found little bits of me imprinted with my messy handwriting. And I can't help but smile at silly me as I read.

Today I'm going to share one classic bit with you. I think I was still in primary school when I started this. I wanted to write a modern-fantasy novel with a badass female character. I wrote myself as an elf and back then I could not spell 'elf'. Not quite sure what inspired me, but I wrote up to 5 chapters which is honestly quite a record.

Try not to cringe.

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, (ok, sorry that was a classical) there was a beautiful elve named Destiny. Ok, sorry guys the beautiful elve is, well, me! I'm Destiny Pysche. I am a woodland elve and I have a lot of things going on about me. Just like the time I'm gonna tell ya.
I looked up into the cloudy sky. "Awww man...." This was the third day I couldn't go out to play with my friends.
"Destiny," a high-class-sounding woman spoke "please stop that Human slang this instant!"
I sighed and I moaned again "Mother, it's been raining for days!"
"Can't I just take the yam leaf and go check on my pets? I pleaded
"No! Never will I let you set your dainty feet out on the damp road!"
I rolled my eyes. "She's gonna babble all day long" I thought. "Why can't I have a normal mother?!" Suddenly a blonde woman burst in.
"Your Majesty (did I mention my mother was the Queen of al elves?!)," she said breathlessly "Your daughter has been playing with a computer!!"
My mother was so furious, she said to me: "If you want to play with human things, BE a human!!"
I hate my mum. The computer is actually an invention of mine. I went to the Land of Waste (or junkyard as the humans call it) to get some scrap metal to build the laptop. I'm quite crafty with metal and with the help of magic... PRESTO! A new laptop! I have made an iPod, GBA, Nintendo DS and lots more. But alas, they were all destroyed by my nanny (the blonde woman) -- Narcissus. Remember the part where my mother said to be a human?! Well, I really want to be a human. Who would want to be an elve anyway? Espacially being a princess elve. Anyway, it's back to my story.
I took one of the beautifull decorated yam leaf and set my 'dainty' foot onto the damp gound and set off to my forest (see map) to check out my pets (see I wasn't lying!) Gosh, they were wet all over and whimpering.
I patted all of the mand left my unicorn stable and set off to Joyanne's house aka Minrara town to have a little heart to heart. Arriving at her house , I knocked at their door. A few seconds later, a chubby elve came and stared at me with irresistable eyes.
"Hello Joylivia, may I speak to Joyanne?" I asked politely.
The toothless Joylivia said" My thister isth sthleeping. You may come dacth lather!" Ungh! She's sleeping again? What did she eat?! I thanked Joylivia and went to Lilac Town.
On the way, I paused in front of my house. "Should I go in?" I said to myself. I heard footsteps coming from behind the door (I have very sharp ears). Gosh, gotta run! I went nearer to Angeline's house. I could hear a racket going on inside. From the window, I saw every one of them were male-elves. Oh of course this was the last day for the male-elve school. And Angeline has 2 brothers (and her fussy mother was on a business job).
"This is the worst day of my life!" I thought. Two of my best friends are occupied and I'm not!! It's too damp for unicorn rides and the rubbish dump will be stinky. I have nowhere else to go. Then I thought about going to the Human Land. It's a marvellous idea! I ran back home silently and went to the loo. A servant came up and knocked.
    "Sorry it's occupied!!" I shouted.
The servant backed away and said: "Sorry mistress, we've been looking all over for you!"
"Well you ust haven't looked closely enough!" I snapped. "Now, leave me alone!"
I used a little bit of elve magic to change my robe into a white t-shirt with a wicked cross and a black flared mini-skirt with fishnet stockings. And of course a pair of trainers. I even added some streaks of puple and pink highlights in my hair.
I crept out of the toilet and sneaked out of the castle. I went along Psyche Road and came to the barbed wire. I knew it was impossible for the other elves to climb tihs barbed wire but I wasn't a normal elve, I am different. I climbed over the wire easily and made a handphone out of some rusty wire and stuffed it in my pocket. I set foot to the entrance and... I tripped.

And that's chapter one of this untitled story. What a cliffhanger.

I actually wrote this with a pencil on my notebook so some of it has faded a little and some of the writing imprinted itself onto some other pages.

Now to critic the heck out of young Noel.

First of all. That is not  how you spell the word elf.  What were you even thinking, Noel? And the worst part was I actually proofread this part when I was slightly older hence the part with the strikethrough which I obviously intended to cut off. I could cut off an entire paragraph but yet I couldn't spell the word elf properly.

There were even more misspelled words in the original 'manuscript' but to save young Noel a little bit of face I edited some of them. I left in the dumber ones though, to give you a laugh and to give myself more cringes.

And have you noticed how awful my punctuations were? I always intended to change my punctuations one day, but I didn't know how. I remember trying to refer to other storybooks but I ended up getting too distracted by the obviously much more interesting plot (and grammar too).

Whilst typing this, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at my horrible grammar. For instance:
Anyway, it's back to my story.
What  was that even supposed to mean? Why did I chose to string these six words together?

And my spacing. I still don't really know how to space my content, actually. Especially if there's conversation. But I made the fatal mistake of not spacing when needed thus an abnormally long paragraph.

I suppose you probably have many questions about the characters and the things that appeared in books.

First things first: I LOVE MY MUM VERY MUCH OKAY. I suppose I was going for this really strict mother who birthed a rebellious adolescent because of a strict parenting thus my character's hate for the mother in the story. Honestly, I think the term 'hate' is extremely strong and once again I question young Noel's choice of words.

I know, my character is so shallow. Back then I didn't eve know character development existed so please spare her, okay?

"Why yam leaf?" You may ask. Because technically when I was younger there used to be a yam plant in my house and it had the hugest leaf that was as big as me and I always imagined critters and woodland creatures taking shelter under it during rain. Of course, the only woodland-ish creatures around my housing area are raccoons and mice.

And I even featured Joyanne and Angeline in this story lmao I had no creativity in names and characters whatsoever. For those who didn't know, these two girls are my best primary school friends. We hung out all the time and we even wrote together. I have that story lying around somewhere too but it's kinda rude to be shown to public eye (I'm not kidding). When the story was conceived, Joyanne's younges sister, Joylivia was also coceived (btw, she's eight now?). So naturally I included her in this story. Yay originality. And Angeline has two older brothers and when we actually hang at her house, there really are  lots of older boys hanging around. Oh gosh. I'm such a loser.

And about Joyanne sleeping, when we were younger, I remember her sleeping in class a lot but I'm not trying to say she's lazy, she's actually one of the most hardworking people I know. Honest.

And the technology part. Don't laugh alright. I wrote that during the mid-2000s. The GBA and Nintendo DS were things I really really wanted back then. And I have no creativity okay. Stop laughing at me.

I remember I started writing this when I was younger, but I continued writing when I was older as well. You could see the handwriting becoming neater.

Also as a bonus, I have an 'illustration' hahahahahahahahahaha sorry I couldn't get through that word without bursting into laughter. I drew out my character because I wanted to picture her better. I know. I am such a dork. And I'm not even an artist so please bear with me.
I NEVER WANTED TO BE AN ARTIST STOP JUDGING ME

So, that was chapter 1. I have a few more chapters up my sleeve. Do tell me if you want to read more. I don't mind making a fool out of myself to make people laugh.

Note: I have no idea what happened in the later chapters but it is heavily focused on a boy. Must've been all the Twilight I read.

Tokyo Disneyland

Disneyland. The place where dreams come true.

I have been blessed enough to go to Hong Kong Disneyland when I was younger. It was pretty fun as there weren't many people at the park. But we went there after two hence missing the parades, and soon after it rained and we were stuck on 'It's A Small World' ride for two hair-tearing hours.

But Tokyo Disneyland is a different story. It was larger, better and more Disney than Hong Kong.

We took a long bus ride to get there. We were quite worried while we were going there because the sky was looking gray. But we checked the weather forecast the day before and it assured us that it was the weather was going to be gorgeous. And the weather forecast in Japan is never wrong.

As the bus stopped at the first station, we immediately rushed out because WE'RE HERE IN DISNEYLAND MUTHAFAKAS!!! It wasn't until we walked quite a distance towards the entrance when we heard: Welcome to DisneySea! Oh hell naw. We got off the wrong stop.

Yes. We were lost. But Tokyo being Tokyo, had a monorail service to bring us from DisneySea to Disneyland. And I s2g the monorail is hella cute, with hidden mickeys all around.

And then finally  we were at Disneyland!
I was sad that I had to buy adult tickets.

I think it was at this point that we lost it. I wanted to run straight to the castle and spam the camera right then. It was only 9am but there was people everywhere already, but more on that later.

The people in charge asked me to get down.

You think this is a lot of photos, but I wasn't happy with the photos of me and the castle. So I continued it later. Stay tuned.

After spazzing out in front of the castle, we headed straight for Adventure Land because we didn't get to go to the one in Hong Kong.

And the first ride we took was Western River Railroad as we wanted to see the sights first.

Map studying

The ride was already spilling with lines of people and Disneyland had just opened. But we got an even bigger shock when the line moved inwards a little. We thought we had reached the point where we could get on the ride, but turns out the line brached off into a hidden section and the line was not as short as it seemed.
This was the part where we thought we could get on, but we had to move inwards and line up longer.

Mum said this looked like a postcard.

This is a ride. You had to actually canoe.
It was a pretty mild ride, with fake animals and fake Native Americans. But it was nice, seeing sights with Japanese narration. Next, we went to ride the Pirates of The Caribbean ride. That was a much more exciting ride, but photography wasn't allowed inside because it ruined the magic.
It was a really good ride. You gotta give props to Disney for their robotics. Captain Jack Sparrow was so lifelike. It makes you wonder what Johnny Depp must feel like, when he rides the ride. It's a truly must-ride ride. (Absolute overuse of the word 'ride', I'm not very sorry)

And then we sought out the Curry Popcorn. There are actually lots of different flavoured popcorn in Tokyo Disneyland but we were more curious about the curry one.

Well, it tasted really spicy, but not the hot and pedas kind. It was just the spice. I would have preferred if they made it hotter, but Japanese don't to hot-spicy. But hey, it was a good try. It was 310 yen tho. We thought it was pricey at first, but then as the day progressed we kinda got used to it.

We bought the popcorn thinking we could maybe slowly eat it while we lined up for the next ride: Big Thunder Mountain, but we were very very wrong. Here's why:
P/s: this was just the outside

Deyh got angmoh at Tokyo Disneyland deyh

You gotta give them props for the decor man

DISNEYLAND JUST OPENED

Yeah the photos above were our semangat faces because we havent's seen how long the line for the ride actually was. Lining up was so boring. I was lucky enough to have brought a book to Disneyland. My brother was farming mushrooms (no he really was. The game). And Joey was listening to music. You could see how the rest of the line was coping with the boredom. The two girls behind us in Mickey ears already selfied like, a thousand times when we got to the middle of the line. And there was a group of teens Mario Kart-ing on their NDSes.

Yeah. We lined up for 90 minutes for a bloody roller coaster. And it wasn't even that thrilling. But it was a nice ride lah.

Then we brought our hungry asses to lunch! We decided to eat in Westernland because we were at Westernland. And it wasn't that expensive as well. We bought two sets and we split it between the three of us. It was quite filling. I think we only spent around RM 20+ per person for this meal which is saying something because it's Disneyland. The place where we got our food was listed as 'cheap' on their map. You should probably check out the map properly buying your meal because my aunt went to a restaurant that was listed as 'slightly expensive' and spent RM120 for a two-person meal. And you don't have to worry about the quality of the food in Disneyland. It might not be healthy, but it sure as heck tastes good.

FOUND AFFORDABLE FOOD FACE

And then we went to the parade. Oh. It was magical. The Japanese already booked their places for the parade when it was 11am. The parade starts at 2pm. And the sun was hitting us with full force on that day. You gotta give the Japs a standing ovation man. Being the midget that I am, I desperately tried to capture as much of the parade I could whilst being squished by tons and tons of (taller) people. I hope these photos does the parade justice.

My favourite princess! :)

King Mickey, everyone

This is our PARADE FINISH LIAO faces

After the parade, we went off for more adventures at Tomorrowland! But we had to pass by the castle first, and I honestly couldn't resist spamming the camera for an instagram-worthy shot, heh.

I honestly could not resist. I'm not sorry.

More adventures at Tomorrowland! We didn't try out the rides that we already played in Hong Kong, but we did go into the 4D theatre for a short movie (Michael Jackson's Captain EO), and we tried out the new Star Wars ride. Those two were totally awesome

We then decided to take a chillpill and have some Disneyland snacks!

It tasted like frozen orange juice.

Mickey shaped churros!

We then went to Toontwon in hopes of meeting the characters. But unfortunately, there were none, and you had to line up for 80 minutes to meet a man in a Mickey suit. So instead, we went for the Roger Rabbit ride. It was suhhh trippy. The rest of the rides were a little to childish for our tastes, so we went for dinner instead.  We wanted pizza, so we had to trudge all the way back to Tomorrowland for it.

Again, us being the smart people we are, decided to buy a few of the pizzas and split it between us. We didn't spend that much on this meal either, and it was delicious.

By this time, night has fallen in Disneyland and we waited for it's light parade. It was magical. I don't think the photos translate how amazing it was, because I don't know how to shoot in low-light, but #ITried

Guess who?

Then after the light show, we went towards the castle for the fireworks. But it was at this babi moment that the sky decided to rain. *sigh* The exact same thing happened in Hong Kong, it rained and they kept postponing the fireworks show. But as we were waiting under our umbrellas, there was an announcement about the cancellation of a show. And everyone left. So did we, we had to meet up with the other people who travelled with us. We were dragged along with the crowd and it was all very chaotic.

This was the point where I was very tired, so there are no more photos because I got lazy. And this is also the reason why I did not take photos of the fireworks show which decided to appear after all because it wasn't the fireworks they cancelled it was another show sigh. The fireworks show was all very technical and cool. Yes. I liked it alot. Pity we left our nice spot.

So I guess that's it. The Disneyland experience.

I hope you guys are at least slightly amused by my photographs because they really are extremely gorgeous and it makes me happy to see them.

To end this, I'll post a few photos of my favourite Disneyland outfits!

I want to go to more Disneylands. I will never get tired of it.
